THE Windhoek City Police had to beat a hasty retreat on Sunday evening after an angry mob in the Okahandja Park informal settlement started stoning them and their cars.
‘It was raining stones,’ City Police spokesperson Max Nghipandwa said yesterday. According to Nghipandwa, the community felt the Police were protecting a suspect who is alleged to have stabbed to death his girlfriend’s sister that same evening. The suspect was arrested but had not appeared in court by the time of going to press.
