Mister wire fingers

Elias Shilongo makes cars and bicycles out of wire since 1999.

He said that his teacher encouraged him at a young age to learn a craft either in wood work or wire art so that he can one day earn his own money from his craft. He makes his creations at home and then walks about in Katutura and Khomasdal selling them. The bicycles sell for N$30 while the cars start at N$40. photo: tanja bause
