POLICE at Aranos have arrested a teenager in connection with the death of a nine-year-old boy who was found hanging from a tree in the Nossob River on Monday.
Police identified the deceased as Stephanus Basson. Inspector Johanna Haraes said Basson went missing after he had left home with three other boys to fetch plants in the bush on Saturday. She said Basson’s family started looking for him on Sunday and later reported him missing.According to Haraes, Basson’s friends told the Police that the suspect had forced him to stay behind with him in the bush. The suspect, after being questioned, led the Police to the place where Basson was found hanging from a tree, said Haraes. luqman@namibian.com.na
