THE husband of Home Affairs and Immigration Minister Rosalia Nghidinwa has passed away.
Sam Nghidinwa (58) collapsed and died at his house in Windhoek’s Cimbebasia suburb on Monday.Minister Nghidinwa told Nampa yesterday that he was cleaning his car at the time.’I just received a call from my children while I was at the office informing me that daddy had collapsed. I rushed home and called the ambulance, but it seems it was already too late. I found him already dead,’ she said while fighting back tears.’My husband was a person who liked jokes, and never got sick. Even in the morning before his death, he was just making jokes with the children in the house after which he proceeded to wash his car,’ she said.The late Nghidinwa was born on March 3 1951 at Onamukalo village in Engela area in the Ohangwena Region.He completed his primary schooling at Engela Primary School, before he moved to the Endola Higher Primary School and later Ongwediva College.Nghidinwa was the owner of the Katwitwi Construction Company at Rundu.Nghidinwa leaves his wife and six children – four boys and two girls.Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later stage. – Nampa
