Ministerial rubbish rapidly removed

A HUGE heap of rubbish which was lying at the premises of the Ministries of Trade and Lands has been removed.

A photo on the front page of The Namibian on Thursday showed the piles of rubbish lying around, with dozens of refuse bags piled up over a large area near the parking lot. Both ministries appear to have sprung into action quickly, because the area was cleaned up and spotless when The Namibian did a check-up over the weekend.Several waste bins were standing neatly in a row.It could not be established if the clean-up operation was one of the first acts by the new Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary, Dr Malan Lindeque, who was shifted from Environment and Tourism to this position on August 1.”If ministries would always react that quickly, Namibia would have the best government in the world,” a pedestrian remarked on Sunday. Both ministries appear to have sprung into action quickly, because the area was cleaned up and spotless when The Namibian did a check-up over the weekend.Several waste bins were standing neatly in a row.It could not be established if the clean-up operation was one of the first acts by the new Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary, Dr Malan Lindeque, who was shifted from Environment and Tourism to this position on August 1. “If ministries would always react that quickly, Namibia would have the best government in the world,” a pedestrian remarked on Sunday.
