OLDER Windhoekers with fond memories of the old putt-putt course next to the municipal swimming pool can now introduce the younger generation to this wholesome form of family fun.
The Flintstone mini-golf course has opened next to the Haven Zoological Park in Kleine Kuppe. The nine-hole course is the brainchild of Lothar Nitsche. ‘I have always had this dream of building and opening an amusement park for the entertainment of old and young in Windhoek and this is the start,’ says Nitsche.Together with Martin Wiese of the Haven Zoological Park, Nitsche designed and built the course with the help of various sponsors. Each hole represents the business of a different sponsor. The course is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 09h00 until 17h00 and on Sundays from 99h00 until 13h00. The course is under shade netting and food and drinks are for sale. There is also a mini carousel for younger children next to the course. Only children older than 10 are allowed on the mini-golf course.
