INMATES at the Katutura Police cells almost turned violent on Wednesday when their food arrived later than usual.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Angula Amulungu told The Namibian that the inmates become agitated over the delay and started insulting the officers. This situation, he said, was calmed by officers on duty.Amulungu said the delay was caused by transport problems. Some sources, however, alleged that the inmates were angry because police officers refused to take some of their sick colleagues to hospital. This situation, he said, was calmed by officers on duty.Amulungu said the delay was caused by transport problems. Some sources, however, alleged that the inmates were angry because police officers refused to take some of their sick colleagues to hospital.
