Crowd-favourite Malambo Mazila put up probably one of his best performances to dethrone previous winner Cafu Simasiku, clinching the King of Sikokoshi dance crown and N$5 000 in prize money.
The dance competition took place in front of a capacity and very enthusiastic Old Chez Ntemba audience on Saturday night.The towering law enforcement agent by profession, challenged the then incumbent Cafu to a rematch, after he was beaten in the previous competition which also took place at the same venue earlier this year. Malambo proved to be on a different level on the night as he danced his way into the hearts of the appreciative and very vocal crowd with the judges panel – consisting of Owen Sikanda, Martha Simasiku and Kabahali Mapenzie giving him a 55,2 per cent score against the 44,8 per cent accumulated by the former champion Cafu.With the victory, Malambo didn’t only reclaim his status as the King of Shikokosi but also earned himself an excellent opportunity to contest the Queen of Sikokoshi for the more lucrative N$20 000 prize money, when the Shikokosi Legend 2012 dance competition takes place in December.
