THE case of a Lüderitz resident accused last year of raping his underage stepdaughter and so fathering her first child, returned to the Lüderitz Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The case, which has been on the court roll since June last year, was postponed until October 1 for further Police investigation.The man’s bail of N$1 000 was extended until then.The former court interpreter was arrested after his then 14-year-old stepdaughter fell pregnant last year, and told medical staff at the hospital that she had been raped on a number of occasions by her mother’s common-law husband.When approached for comment, the suspect claimed to The Namibian that the allegations against him were fabricated by his former girlfriend.
