LÃœDERITZ residents are preparing for the town’s second lobster festival, which will be held over the Easter weekend.
Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company chief executive officer Samuel Fluksman says the main aim of the festival is to attract tourism and investments to boost the town’s economy. This year’s festival will include an SME Expo where small businesses can exhibit their products, sport events, live music and celebrities such as South African soccer legend Dr Khumalo. ‘The participation of Dr Khumalo, who serves as the Fifa World Cup ambassador in his country, will strengthen the quality and certainly serves as a draw-card for thousands of would-be festival participants,’ Fluksman boasted. He said local artists such as The Dogg, Exit and Mushe, Tre Van Die Kasie and upcoming artists from the Karas Region, including Superman, will entertain the crowds. And, of course, there will be rock lobster – lots of it.luqman@namibian.com.na
