ALLOW us space in your newspaper to respond to the issue of “Losing List’s legacy” into which Dr Till Eulenspiegel has rather unwittingly stumbled in your publication of 23 August 2005.
The Namibian public has justifiable expectations from Ohlthaver & List, the group of companies it has come to know in recent times. This clearly transpired from an external perception audit conducted during 2004.With a new corporate goals and vision to “enhancing living conditions and socio-economic wealth by being a builder of innovative and sustainable businesses”, our group strives to meet these expectations through our Corporate Social Investments initiatives (CSI).By definition, CSI activities are financial or in-kind-support of initiatives that contribute to the socio-economic upliftment of a society. As Dr Eulenspiegel has rightly stated, these contributions encompassed a multiplicity of areas and sectors.Hence they lacked focus and undermined our intentions of making long-term and sustainable impacts on our society. We have subsequently introduced clear objectives and guidelines and allocated resources in support of our key focus areas. And as its stands, these amount to some N$100 000 exclusively allocated in support of Small and Medium Enterprise development, education, and charitable community-based organisations. The “cuts” referred to by Dr.Eulenspiegel are thus factually biased and grossly misleading to our external stakeholders.Patrick L.Hashingola Group Manager: PR Ohlthaver & List GroupThis clearly transpired from an external perception audit conducted during 2004.With a new corporate goals and vision to “enhancing living conditions and socio-economic wealth by being a builder of innovative and sustainable businesses”, our group strives to meet these expectations through our Corporate Social Investments initiatives (CSI).By definition, CSI activities are financial or in-kind-support of initiatives that contribute to the socio-economic upliftment of a society.
