I AM referring to the letter that appeared in The Namibian of Friday, 24 February 2006 in which a certain Mr Metal from Okahao commented on the Oshiwambo talk show, ‘Ewi lya manguluka’.
I think Mr Metal really did not know what to write about. I honestly cannot believe that a person of his calibre can make such funny comments in the media.Metal referred to comments and requests made in the talk show as nonsensical and requested the programme to be removed from the radio because it is useless.I do not know if he really considered the importance of democracy and freedom of speech before he made such immature comments. The people of Namibia have 100% right to complain and request what they think is right for them irrespective of whatever situation, and this is why the programme has been put there. If he does not want to listen to what the poor people are saying in their “parliament”, it is advisable for him to tune in to other stations or completely switch off his radio.I cannot see the need of the removal of the programme from the radio if this is offered in all the radio stations.Metal, you really made me ashamed by denying your people (your ethnic group for that matter) the right to speak.I am very sorry to tell you that you can be compared with one of those old colonialists who denied us our rights, as far as I am concerned.Dr Farman – OkahaoI honestly cannot believe that a person of his calibre can make such funny comments in the media.Metal referred to comments and requests made in the talk show as nonsensical and requested the programme to be removed from the radio because it is useless.I do not know if he really considered the importance of democracy and freedom of speech before he made such immature comments. The people of Namibia have 100% right to complain and request what they think is right for them irrespective of whatever situation, and this is why the programme has been put there. If he does not want to listen to what the poor people are saying in their “parliament”, it is advisable for him to tune in to other stations or completely switch off his radio.I cannot see the need of the removal of the programme from the radio if this is offered in all the radio stations.Metal, you really made me ashamed by denying your people (your ethnic group for that matter) the right to speak.I am very sorry to tell you that you can be compared with one of those old colonialists who denied us our rights, as far as I am concerned.Dr Farman – Okahao
