NAMIBIA should never abandon its drive to become a self-sustainable nation, Attorney General Pendukeni Ithana said on Friday.
If the country attained the level where it could export manufactured goods, she said, there would be great benefits for people in terms of skills development and job creation. “The import mentality must make way for accepting self-sustainability as a Namibian way of life,” said Ithana. She was speaking at the the 10th anniversary of the Women’s Action for Development (WAD) in Windhoek on Friday.”The idea should spiral down to our schools to sow the seeds of entrepreneurial thinking.Young people should at an early age make their choice to become employment providers instead of job seekers,” she added.Ithana said people’s thinking became stuck in a rut as a result of the “job-seeker mentality” and did not allow for exploring all the options begging to be investigated.”The import mentality must make way for accepting self-sustainability as a Namibian way of life,” said Ithana. She was speaking at the the 10th anniversary of the Women’s Action for Development (WAD) in Windhoek on Friday.”The idea should spiral down to our schools to sow the seeds of entrepreneurial thinking.Young people should at an early age make their choice to become employment providers instead of job seekers,” she added.Ithana said people’s thinking became stuck in a rut as a result of the “job-seeker mentality” and did not allow for exploring all the options begging to be investigated.
