WALVIS BAY Mayor, Derek Klazen warned the harbour town’s residents to be ‘alert’ as diaorrhea cases are apparently increasing significantly in the town.
The main causes for diaorrhea are poor hygiene, lack of clean water, and poor sanitation conditions. He urged parents to seek medical advice and treatment ‘without delay’ when their children exhibit signs of fever, extreme thirst, abnormal drinking or eating, frequent vomiting, and watery stool.Klazen however assured that, after recent tests, Walvis Bay’s water quality seem to be ‘excellent’.According to him, the quality is usually compromised when people fail to keep their water storage facilities clean at all times.
