Kaimbi leads World Cup scorers in Africa

BRAVE Warriors forward Lazarus Kaimbi is the joint leading top scorer in the African zone 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Kaimbi has three goals to his name, the same number as Dioko Kaluyituka and Trésor Mputu of the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as Kenya’s Dennis Oliech. All three of Kaimbi’s goals were scored against Djibouti during the preliminary phase of the competition. Kaimbi missed the start of the group phase against Nigerian on Sunday due to suspension but – like Oliech – will get the chance to add to his tally when Namibia host Kenya in Windhoek tomorrow.Namibia also has Rudolf Bester and Sadney Urikhob among the leading marksmen with two goals each. Other players on two are Dominic Adiyiah and Jordan Ayew of Ghana, Shemeles Bekele and Getaneh Kebede from Ethiopia, Foxi Kethevoama from Central African Republic, Ahmat Labo, Sidumo Shongwe from Swaziland, and Algeria’s El Arbi Soudani.
