July Handicap at Rehoboth

THE Naris Turf Club will host their July Handicap horse racing event at Rehoboth on Saturday.

Ten races are scheduled on the day, with the main race being the July Handicap over 1800m.Storminateacup, owned by Eamon Freygang, is unbeatable in his last seven races, but Wethreekings from the Angermund Stables and Staying Alive from R. Losper are back to their best. Elixir, owned by Adolf Titus, is an outsider and is very good over the longer distances while Hip Hop Queen is also a possible winner. New import, Social Master, still has to acclimatise and get use to local race tracks. Another contender is This Son of Jetmaster, a top horse owned by the undercover syndicate.Another interesting race will be in the D – division where Aruthusa, Quequen, Light Up My Life and Junk Yard Kid have to fight it out over one thousand metres. Aruthusa, owned and ridden by youngster GP Losper from Keetmanshoop, is virtually unbeatable and remains the favourite in this race.Cielo Dorado is also a new horse, and will participate in the Graduation Division against Serena’s Pride, Jallad Bay, Serious Sonja and Follow My Lead. While its expected to be a close affair, George Mcnab’s filly, Serena’s Pride, is the bookies favourite to win.Golden Flute owned by Stanley Tjozongoro, all the way from Talismanis in the Omaheke region, will have to take on Guided Missile, Moon Dancer, Seacrest and Flameswood in the race of the maidens.’The members of Naris Turf Club would like to thank all the sponsors and horse owners and also would like to invite everybody to the event which is going to start at twelve o’ clock,’ said the organisers.
