Joseph is new table tennis boss

THE Namibia Table Tennis Association (NTTA) recently held its 44th Annual General Meeting. What made this a very special AGM was the fact that the current president Zigi Gubel decided that she would not stand for re-election. The newly elected president is Christopher Joseph.

Gubel was thanked for her dedication for the past 35 years at the helm of the NTTA but she will still be involved in an advisory capacity as well as that of treasurer.
Joseph who started playing at the age of 13 and is still after 24 years an active player in the Namibian league with Eliminators Table Tennis Club and a coach with the junior development programme, said he wants to take table tennis to a new level by introducing more local and international participation.
He urged schools and parents to encourage their children to enter into the junior development programme that was initiated recently by Eliminators and SKW by contacting the development officer for the NTTA, Theo Beukes, at 081 259 9609.
