JOHANNESBURG – Former Springbok rugby captain Joost van der Westhuizen was discharged from hospital on Wednesday morning.
Van der Westhuizen was admitted to the Sunninghill Hospital in the early hours of Sunday in an unconscious state. Prior to his collapse he complained of chest pain.
According to his treating physicians he did not suffer a heart attack and all other investigations have been inconclusive. Blood tests ruled out any substance intoxication.The fully recovered Van der Westhuizen was both happy and relieved to be discharged from hospital in good health. – Nampa-Sapa
