THE Jewellers’ Association of Namibia (Jassona) held its 17th annual general meeting recently in Swakopmund, where members expressed satisfaction with the new diamond sales agreement between the Government and De Beers, saying it would enable Jassona members to supply Namibian-mined and -cut diamonds to the public.
Jassona, since its founding days in 1991, has created and promoted a goldsmith-training programme for Namibian apprentices, which still supplies trained artisans and goldsmiths to the industry.
