MIDFIELD maestro Quinton Jacobs has been charged by the Namibia Premier League (NPL) with misconduct, and for bringing the game of football into disrepute.
NPL league administrator Joshua Hoëbeb said the NPL’s management committee, together with its Disciplinary Committee (DC), made the decision on Monday.Despite the charge, Jacobs could now play for African Stars, whom he signed with recently.Hoëbeb explained that Jacobs’ charges stems from him signing an agreement with Eleven Arrows, although Eleven Arrows never registered him with the Namibia Football Association (NFA) as one of its players.Jacobs had been legally released to African Stars from Orlando Pirates, and he was orderly registered with the NFA by African Stars. If found guilty, Jacobs could be suspended from playing a number of matches, or receive a fine.African Stars can thus use Jacobs in their Premier League encounter against township foes WesBank Tigers at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday.Approached for comment on Tuesday, African Stars’ team manager Lesley Kozonguizi said Jacobs will definitely be in their first eleven today. – Nampa
