LONDON – Prince Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy Davy have split up, with the decision confirmed on her Facebook page.
She altered her profile on the social networking website to read: ‘Relationship: Not in One’.
The end of the rollercoaster five-year romance follows a series of heartbreaking phone calls, it has been claimed.
Chelsy, a law student, ended the relationship after tiring of her prince’s playboy antics, according to friends who were quoted in today’s News Of The World.
The blonde heiress ‘sobbed her heart out’ after finishing the relationship with the royal last week, the newspaper reported.
It said sources close to Chelsy revealed she feels ‘betrayed’ by Prince Harry’s constant flirting.
A royal source said on Saturday that the pair, who had a trial separation in 2007, had parted amicably.
Clarence House, the official residence of Harry’s father Prince Charles, said it would not comment on the personal life of the third-in-line to the throne.
The split comes just three weeks after the couple returned from a holiday together in Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, the News of the World reported on its website.
The newspaper reported that Zimbabwe-born Davy (23) had told friends she could no longer put up with his lifestyle and the time spent apart.
She has returned to university in Leeds while Harry began his helicopter training at the Army Air Corps HQ in Hampshire last Monday, the paper added.
Harry (24), a lieutenant in the Household Cavalry, served a short spell in Afghanistan last year before a media blackout collapsed.
