OPUWO – Close to 80 000 identity documents have not been collected from Home Affairs offices countrywide and the number is set to increase because the manner of tracing applicants was been suspended.
As of September 2003, there were 37 520 unclaimed IDs in Windhoek, while 6 000 cards were waiting for their owners at Eenhana; Opuwo: 1 786; Outapi: 2 623; Oshakati: 5784; Ondangwa: 4 060; Tsumeb: 2 049; Rundu: 2 498; Katima Mulilo: 1 767; Swakopmund: 5 013; Otjiwarongo: 2 365; Gobabis: 2 086; Keetmanshoop: 3 000; and Mariental: 1 717. – Nampa- Nampa
