Hitman shaped for victory

WBO International lightweight title holder Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses is in the best shape of his life as he prepares to fend off challenger Jermias Castillo, says fight promoter Nestor Tobias.

The fight is set for tomorrow night at the Vineta Sport Complex in Swakopmund. ‘You can see for yourself how he looks This guy has been working very hard. He does not want to disappoint his supporters and the Namibian nation,’ Tobias said. The boxer himself said he had never felt better and was looking forward to improving his record so as to lure bigger fish than tomorrow’s opponent. ‘I’m ranked number four in the world by the WBO. If I win this fight then next year I will be ranked number one or two and can go for the (full) world title again,’ Moses said.’To my people at the coast, come in big numbers and support me. I’ll defend our title and remain champion.’ Tobias said a full house is expected in Swakopmund tomorrow to witness arguably the country’s biggest boxing bonanza of the year. The event will feature several of Namibia’s top boxers will on the undercard, including Tyson Ushona, Wilbeforce Shihepo, Johannes Mwetupunga and Abraham Ndaendapo.Ushona will fight Said Zungu of Tanzania, Shihepo will fight Udiadia Mwahila of the DRC, Mwetupunga will fight Amos Temfuma of Zambia and Ndaendapo will fight Richard Muriri of Zimbabwe.WBO bantamweight world title contender Paulus Ambunda will also be in action and will fight against four boxers in preparation for the title fight early next year. He will spar two rounds each against Lukas Sakaria, Mathew Kandala, Abmerk Shindjuu and Immanuel Naidjala. Tickets for the boxing bonanza cost N$500 for VIP seats, N$150 for the Middle Row and N$50 for the Grand Stand. Tickets are available at Computicket at Shoprite and Checkers branches throughout Namibia, and at the Boxing Control Board office.There will also be free bus transport for Walvis Bay residents to Swakopmund, with the first bus leaving from the Kuisebmond Hall at 15h30 tomorrow.
