THE National Housing Enterprise has reinstated Maureen Hinda as Katutura Central Branch Manager.Hinda had been suspended since May because of allegations that she had exceeded her powers by granting a loan of N$60 000 – above the limit that she was authorised to approve.
But Hinda claimed that the suspension was an attempt to damage her chances of becoming the company’s chief executive. In press release issued last week, the NHE said all charges against Hinda had been dropped.NHE management also announced that it had reached an agreement with the Namibia Financial Institutions Union (Nafinu) on transport allowances for staff members. In terms of the agreement, retroactive from July, NHE staff will for the first time be entitled to transport allowances as part of their benefits package.
