The Swapo electoral college has left heavy casualties on some of the party’s senior leaders.
Some big wigs that have been cooked out of the parliamentary pot list include defence minister Frans Kapofi, rural and urban development minister Erastus Utoni, and parliamentarians Jerry Ekandjo and Tjekero Tweya.
The ruling party’s electoral college is also known as the pot.
Speaking to Desert Radio on Monday, political analyst Ndumba Kamwanyah says the party did well in balancing gender parity.
“In terms of gender, the list looks very good. I am, however, not too sure whether the youth have dominated the list. They can always do better,” Kamwanyah said.
