Heavy Load On Health Employees

I AM an employee of the health ministry and I get so confused with the way we are being treated as Namibians and health workers.

You can visit hospitals these days in the Erongo Region you will find that the nurses are still doing 99 percent of the doctors work while the doctors get fixed overtime pay.The nurses and especially the ambulance drivers who have to travel long distances with patients during the night can’t enjoy that right of fixed overtime pay. Ambulance drivers have to take on the risky part of transporting the patients at night to Windhoek to save their lives. The Minister of Health should have a closer look into this situation or give some explanation why nurses and ambulance drivers who are also shift workers can’t have fixed overtime pay. We have to be at work the whole time while doctors sleep and enjoy, so to say, free money. It will make everybody so happy and even work performance might increase if we can be treated equally.Minister please look into this matter because we are all equal and public servants who would love to enjoy the same treatment and benefit in order to build a healthy happy work force..
