LONDON – British former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton will fight Filipino Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas on May 2, his lawyer said on Monday.
‘We have got the contract, signed by Manny,’ lawyer Gareth Williams told the BBC. ‘We’ll announce the fight at a press conference on Thursday (today).’Hatton is the world’s top-ranked light-welterweight, having returned to that weight after being beaten by Floyd Mayweather Jnr. in a WBC welterweight title fight last year.Former four-weight world champion Pacquiao, 30, outclassed Oscar de la Hoya in December to confirm his reputation as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. – Nampa-AFP
