AS a concerned resident of Grootfontein, I was just wondering about the state of affairs in our town regarding the new appointments.
First of all, please note that I’m not out to get anyone or to slander anyone. I just want to know what is the purpose of our management committee, since they are the ones responsible for appointments. What criteria were used when they appointed these people? We all know one another in Grootfontein, being such a small town, and apart from the accountant, none of the other candidates have tertiary training, yet this was part of the requirements – Grade 12 and further training, preferably tertiary.Yet there is a certain individual who doesn’t even have Grade 10 who got the job because he was serving on the management committee. What on earth is happening? Why are we still continuing with corruption? I think the Anti Corruption Commission must go and have a check at the municipality of Grootfontein.HIV-AIDS is the single biggest threat that we face as a society and nation and the only way that we will fight the infection rate is when we employ competent people who will deliver the goods and not individuals who will only enrich themselves at the expense of others.A certain individual who doesn’t even have a Grade 10 certificate got a post as HIV-AIDS co-ordinator.The funniest thing about the matter is that all of them who were employed are Swapo party members. When are we going to put politics aside and build the nation? This thing of ‘comradeship’ should stop and it should be condemned to the fullest because we are shooting ourselves in the foot if we continue tolerating these evil practices. In conclusion, I would just like to say to the management committee that I have no confidence in them because they showed their partiality and if I had my way I would most definitely replace all of them with a competent, impartial group of dedicated people who have Grootfontein’s best interests at heart, and not elements who just want to fill their bellies on the account of others.N M Boois Grootfontein Via e-mailI just want to know what is the purpose of our management committee, since they are the ones responsible for appointments. What criteria were used when they appointed these people?
