MILAN – World output of wheat and other major grains is expected to rise this year after a fall in 2006, with the total output rise driven by big maize crops in South America and the US, the UN food body said.
World wheat output is seen rising 4,8 per cent to about 626 million tonnes, with a recovery in some major exporting countries after weather problems last year, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation said in a report released yesterday.
