Just six weeks after the Go4Gold Team 2024 concluded their advanced leadership programme with the presentation of their year projects at the end of November, the Go4Gold Team 2025 has launched into their journey with Module 1 of the one-year programme.
Welcoming the new cohort, Gondwana chief executive Gys Joubert shared inspiring words that set the tone for the year ahead:
“I cannot wait to witness your transformation at the end of this year.
It will not be easy – you will experience self-doubt, and there will be times where you want to give up. But growth never comes with comfort. So please promise me to choose courage over comfort.”
The first of six modules focused on helping participants develop a deep understanding of themselves as individuals, uncovering deeply rooted beliefs, and analysing how those beliefs shape decisions and leadership styles. The aim is to encourage self-awareness as the foundation for effective leadership.
Go4Gold is Gondwana’s flagship advanced leadership programme, designed to instil its core leadership principles in the next generation of leaders. “Leadership is a verb – it is action, and it is a choice. At Gondwana, we believe that when you have a team around you, you have the power of influence.
It is a sensitive responsibility, and we aim to use that influence to help people discover their own power and potential, unlocking it to add value to their lives and to Gondwana as a whole,” said Ume Goldbeck, the programme leader.
Participants of the Go4Gold Team 2025 shared ambitious personal goals they hope to achieve during this transformative year. These goals reflect their drive for growth, echoing Joubert’s mantra: “If your goals don’t scare you, they are not big enough.”
The year ahead promises to be a challenging yet rewarding journey of growth, resilience and leadership development, ensuring that Gondwana’s future leaders are prepared to inspire and influence positive change.
