Gladiators player stabbed to death

TWO teenagers yesterday made a brief appearance in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court over the death of Brave Gladiators football player Bianca Fredericks (23).

The suspects, aged 15 and 17 years, whose names cannot be published, allegedly stabbed Fredericks with a kitchen knife in her back.
It is suspected that a quarrel between Fredericks and the suspects escalated into the stabbing that happened at the Fire Fighting Club on Thursday.
Fredericks was declared dead on arrival at the local State hospital.
The suspects were not asked to plead, and their case was postponed until November 26 for further Police investigation.
They remain in Police custody.
Meanwhile, a murder and attempted murder case against a 26-year-old Berseba resident, Jonathan Fredericks, also heard in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court yesterday, was postponed until November 28.
Fredericks allegedly stabbed Ingrid Tiboth (23) several times with a knife, causing her death, and he allegedly also stabbed Rolien Rhoman in the head, left shoulder and upper right arm.
The incident happened at a club at Berseba on Thursday.
Fredericks could not attend yesterday’s court hearing because he was receiving treatment in Windhoek for a bullet wound to his leg.
The club owner’s son, Joseph Anthony McKay, allegedly shot Fredericks in the leg in an attempt to defend his customers after Fredericks had gone berserk, attacking people with a knife.
Police are investigating an attempted murder charge against McKay.
