WINDHOEK – Four members of the Men-on-the-Side-of-the-Road (MSR) project recently completed three-month vocational training courses at the Katutura Youth Enterprise Centre (KAYEC) Training Centre.
They were supported through the Bank Windhoek Social Investment Fund.One of the men received a Certificate in Small Engine Maintenance and Repair, two in Electrical Repairs and Basic Electrical Installation, and one in Painting, Tiling, Glazing and Decorating.’Bank Windhoek is proud of the achievement of these men, because skills development always empower people, not only to actively seek employment, but to also create employment for themselves. We believe in giving people opportunities to be empowered and commend the Men-on-the-Side-of-the-Road for starting this training initiative,’ said Bank Windhoek’s Sponsorship and Social Investment Communication Practitioner M’kariko Amagulu in a statement issued on Tuesday.She said the graduates are also assisted to get them started with a job search action plan, which began with Curriculum Vitae (CV) updates.Amagulu added that the four men were pleased to receive their certificates, and are very keen to get internships to practice and develop their newly acquired skills.The MSR will continue to give them mentoring and training, she noted.- Nampa
