A CAR crash in Windhoek claimed the lives of five people over the weekend.
According to the Namibian Police’s Public Relations and Liaison Division, two cars – a Hyundai with a Windhoek registration number and a Volkswagen Golf with an Oranjemund number plate – were involved in a collision at the intersection of Abraham Mashego Street and Monte Christo Road between Katutura and Okuryangava at about midnight on Friday.The crash was deadly.Two people died at the scene of the accident and three others passed away after they had been rushed to hospital, the Police reported yesterday. Four other people sustained serious injuries. Their condition was not known late yesterday.The five victims who lost their lives were named as Mervin Mbatemua (25), Elvin Vazepa, Komombura Tjitunga, Kanandangu Uatjiua and Opeeri Katjipuka.
