DEAR Multi-Choice Namibia: I see it’s raining again; have you found that signal that you’ve been searching for yet? I am afraid that I am not a happy chappy with Multi-Choice Namibia, as you have become such a “fat cat” nowadays that you do not care about us, the little people/ viewers, anymore.
Your service at your service centre here in Windhoek is very poor and your staff unfriendly, to say the least. They are arrogant and at times display a negative attitude towards one when you complain or enquire about poor service.Recently a lot of people have been complaining about interruptions that occur when we are blessed with some much-needed rain. You as head of our beloved Multi-Choice (MNet) in Namibia then send out a news release to all print media arrogantly telling the subscribers that the interruptions are “only about 0,004%” of broadcast time and that we should basically just accept that as a fact because “it happens all over the world.”Well, Mister Multi-Choice Namibia General Manager, I have a lot of friends in South Africa and “all over the world” and after consulting quite a few of them via e-mail and telephone I can gladly inform you, they DO NOT experience the same problems with their broadcast as we do here in Namibia. But seeing that you accept the fact that we miss out on “only about 0,004%” of our programmes, why do you still make us pay 100% subscription? Should we not only pay 99,96% – I mean it only makes sense to me that I should only pay for what I see.Are you willing to consider a deduction and or credit of “only about 0,004%” for the months of December 2005, January, February and March 2006? And it is not only about 0,004% it is a lot more! If a subscriber is late in making his or her monthly payment, his or her service is suspended immediately …how do we now penalise you for what is going on? A lot of my friends and I, not to mention a whole lot of people around the country, are sick and tired of the excuses and your “searching for a signal at…”basically every single day now since December 2005.The only thing we now want to hear from you is an apology for the deterioration in your service, broadcast time and quality.Stop making excuses and address the problem.Your services are going downhill, your excuses are lame and don’t even get me started on some of your programming. In other words “your service is currently scrambled”.The thing is, you are our only alternative to NBC which is like constipation, so please, rectify the situation and save us from tuning to NBC while you are “searching for a signal at…”Thank you, have a nice day and enjoy the rain!
