THE funeral this weekend of the oldest granny in Namibia will be paid for by the Hollywood star, Tyrese, who is currently filming at the coast.

Tyrese Gibson (25), who is also an R ‘n’ B singer, was touched by a report in The Namibian about the death of 126-year-old Anna Visser last week. Believed to be the oldest person in Namibia, she died in the Sacred Heart Hospice at Mariental last Thursday.Yesterday Prime Minister Theo-Ben Gurirab announced the donation on behalf of the actor, who stars as the second lead in the ‘Flight of the Phoenix’.Tyrese, with some assistance from the rest of the film crew, will contribute almost N$30 000 to cover the expenses of the burial.This includes an advance payment for a gravestone of about N$14 000.Tyrese was going to announce the donation himself, but he could not get away from the movie set yesterday.Believed to be the oldest person in Namibia, she died in the Sacred Heart Hospice at Mariental last Thursday.
