POLICE at Keetmanshoop were yesterday afternoon still searching for the two men who attacked and robbed an elderly couple at their farm Groendoring in the Klein Karas district.
‘We’re following up strong leads and will soon make a breakthrough,’ Police Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Isaak said. Two masked men on Saturday seriously injured Daniel Mori’s wife when they attacked her with a sharp object. Police earlier reported that the two men ransacked the farmhouse and stole N$3 700 in cash before fleeing in the couple’s Toyota bakkie. The bakkie was found abandoned in the veld near Keetmanshoop. It is reported that the couple were watching TV when they heard a knock on the door around 20h00. When Mori’s wife opened the door, the two men armed with a rifle attacked her. They entered the house and beat Mori in the face before tying him up in one of the rooms. Mori phoned the Police after he managed to unite himself with his wife and escaping through a window. luqman@namibian.com.na
