Eenhana Fair increases exhibitors

ONGWEDIVA – Close to 200 entrepreneurs will gather at Eenhana town in the Ohangwena region to showcase their products and services when the 2011 Eenhana Trade and Business Exposition (Expo) starts on Monday.

Head of the Expo preparatory committee, Ndawedwa Mwandingi, 191 entrepreneurs have confirmed their participation in this year’s expo, compared to the 145 entrepreneurs who took part in last year’s event. This is the fourth time that the Eenhana Town Council is hosting this annual expo event.Mwandingi indicated that this time around all the exhibitors are from Namibia, unlike in previous years when entrepreneurs from neighbouring countries such as Botswana also participated. He said the initial 160 exhibition stands were fully booked in a record time, and organisers were forced to create extra space in order to cater for the high demand for stands, thus bring the number of stands to 191.According to Mwandingi, President Hifikepunye Pohamba is expected to open the expo officially next week on Thursday. The Expo will be hosted at its usual venue, the Eenhana Multi-purpose Youth Centre, with the main sponsor of the event being Standard Bank Namibia. The bank availed an amount of N$50 000 for the event. The six-day 2011 Eenhana Trade and Business Expo will run until 30 July. – Nampa
