The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has called on Namibians to take advantage of the last two days to register to vote.
Speaking to Desert Radio on Wednesday morning, ECN spokesperson Dewet Siluka said those who haven’t registered should come out to utilise the remaining hours.
“We can see long queues at the Automated Teller Machines because it’s month-end, and those are the queues that we want to see at the voter registration booths these two days. We are calling on all Namibians that have not yet registered to do so between today and tomorrow,” he said.
Siluka dismissed any chance of the voter registration exercise being extended beyond the 1 August deadline.
Voter registration closes on Thursday.
Siluka said they have used all avenues available to promote voter registration.
