A MAN at Ohangwena village allegedly killed his girlfriend by stabbing her four times in the chest with a knife before setting their hut on fire with their six-month-old son inside.
It is believed that the child suffocated in the smoke.
The 27-year-old suspect handed himself over to the Ohangwena Police on the same night.
The man will appear in the Ohangwena Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. Until then, his name may not be published.
According to Ohangwena Police spokesperson Sergeant Abner Iitumba, the incident happened at Ohangwena village at around 23h20 on Sunday.
Iitumba identified the victims as Beata Kashela (22) and baby Tangenyomweni Mudjanima Kamudulunge.
