Dockets stolen from Windhoek court

THREE ‘important Police dockets’ – on robbery with aggravating circumstances, corruption and theft – were stolen from the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Silvanus Nghishidimbwa yesterday said the burglars stole the dockets from the office of a prosecutor at this court.The burglar(s) gained entry through ‘a small window’.It was discovered yesterday morning.Nghishidimbwa emphasised that the dockets contained important information. ‘These are not petty cases like shoplifting.’A senior employee yesterday said closed-circuit television cameras were being installed at the court yesterday following the burglary.It is understood that no other items were stolen from the office.By yesterday afternoon, no one had been arrested in connection with the incident, Nghishidimbwa said.He appealed to people to come forward with information that would lead to an arrest.
