Dinyando calls for unity, sobriety

THE Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Raphael Dinyando, has called on people in the Karas Region to strive for unity in order to maintain peace and stability.

Addressing the Heroes’ Day commemoration at Karasburg, the deputy minister said the nation couldn’t afford to go back to the battlefield, thus for the sake of development and the younger generation, a more united nation than in the liberation struggle is needed. Dinyando urged the younger generation to redouble their efforts to obtain education, because skilled people are needed to create an industrialised country in order to alleviate unemployment. He called on residents to support the political office-bearers in the region in their plans to map out development projects.Furthermore, he appealed to the youth to abstain from alcohol and drug abuse, and instead become hardworking and committed citizens contributing to the country’s development.”Drugs and alcohol are disastrous elements that will destroy the nation,” he warned.Dinyando urged the younger generation to redouble their efforts to obtain education, because skilled people are needed to create an industrialised country in order to alleviate unemployment. He called on residents to support the political office-bearers in the region in their plans to map out development projects.Furthermore, he appealed to the youth to abstain from alcohol and drug abuse, and instead become hardworking and committed citizens contributing to the country’s development.”Drugs and alcohol are disastrous elements that will destroy the nation,” he warned.
