ABRAHAM Amukwaya, a dangerous criminal who escaped from the Kalkrand Police Cells on January 16, is still at large.

Amukawaya was awaiting trial on a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances, but has several other charges against him, including murder, attempted murder, and robbery. Amukwaya is regarded as dangerous, and people with information on his whereabouts are cautioned to immediately contact the nearest Police station, or one of the following officers of the Namibian Police: Detective Warrant Officer Joodt – 081 235 1787Detective Warrant Officer van der Westhuizen – 081 299 4258Detective Warrant Officer Maletsky – 081 272 4527Detective Sergeant Matengu – 081 350 9324* A man was stabbed in the neck and back with a kitchen knife on board the vessel MFV Silver Ferna at the Lüderitz harbour last Tuesday morning.The 48-year-old man is currently in intensive care, and his condition is described as stable. Another crew member, Malibongwe Christopher Ntantiso (37), a South African citizen, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, and appeared in court on Wednesday. * In another case of attempted murder, 25-year-old Quinton Hochobeb was stabbed in the back, left shoulder and stomach at La Tropican Club in Keetmanshoop between 24h00 and 01h00 yesterday morning. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to Windhoek for treatment. No arrest has been made yet, but the Police are pursuing a known suspect.* The Augeikas Primary School was broken into last week. Three computers, a flat-screen computer monitor, one hotplate and one printer were stolen. It is believed that the suspect(s) gained access to the school’s office block by cutting through the roof. The value of the stolen goods is unknown.
