Damara Dik Ding eyes Otjiwarongo

POPULAR Namibian musician Damara Dik Ding (real name Arthur /Nanub) is set to hit Otjiwarongo on Friday for the launch of his second album. The action will be going down at Orwetoveni’s Virmos Bar.

Known for his vibrant live shows, the stocky kwaito and Damara Punch singer will have ample support. Joining him on stage will be kwaito star Exit and velvet-voiced R&B singer Dickson, while DJ Birdy will be spinning the decks.Said Damara: ‘This is going to be a chance for my Otjiwarongo fans to see me in action after a very long while. The gig is actually part of my campaign to promote my album ‘Beats From The Heart’, which was released last year.’He described the album as very special. ‘It’s a compilation of my work which survived the major computer crash I had at my studio last year. We only printed a limited number of albums and it’s a ‘must-have’ souvenir for my fans.’He said fans should note that the quality of the CD was slightly compromised. ‘People who know my work know what I am capable of. However, I had to pull this album through because I’m already working on this year’s project. It’s not really the best I could offer, but it’s still Chesta (Damara Dik Ding) doing his thing,’ he said. The good think about this promotion is that people can also get free delivery of the CD by dialling Rodney Neib on 085 565 5400, or otherwise make a turn at Universal Sounds to buy a copy.Damage for the show is N$30 before 24h00 and N$50 afterwards.
