THE customer is the winner in the battle between Namibia’s two mobile service providers for the hearts and wallets of the public.
Cell One customers made the most of free calls offered in a promotion on Friday, says company spokesman Jegg Christiaan. In the ‘Finest Hour’ festive season promotion, Cell One subscribers can make free calls or send free SMSes for one hour on selected days.On Friday, this ‘happy hour was between 07h00 and 08h00, but customers said some people were still making free calls later in the morning while others could not.Approached for comment, Christiaan said the company allowed calls made during the free hour to continue as long as the customer wanted.”Because the phone call was started within the Finest Hour, we didn’t cut it off even if they spoke well into the next hour or beyond,” Christiaan explained. He said a number of clients took advantage of this loophole, but Cell One had no problem with that and allowed it as part of good customer service.
