The Confederation of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) is set for a busy second half of 2024 with several tournaments on the horizon, many of them continental qualifiers.
These tournaments include all age-group levels, from under-15 to senior international football.
After the success of the senior men’s Cosafa Cup and Beach Soccer Championships that were held earlier this year, there are six more tournaments scheduled between now and December.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League/Cosafa Qualifier will be staged in Blantyre, Malawi, from 15 to 24 August.
The regional qualifiers for the CAF African Schools Football Championship are to be staged on the coast of Namibia from 5 to 8 September, where the best under-15 boys and girls from around southern Africa will vie for a place in the continental finals.
There will be another continental preliminary competition from 25 September to 6 October when the CAF under-20 Africa Cup of Nations/Cosafa Qualifier is played.
The Cosafa Women’s Championship will return to Gqeberha, South Africa, from October 22 to 2 November.
Mozambique will then play host to the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations/Cosafa Qualifier to be staged from 5 to 15 December.
Finally, the Cosafa Women’s Under-17 Championship – an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier for that age group – will also be played in Mozambique over the same dates. – Cosafa
