A 17-year-old male prisoner was raped in a holding cell at Mariental, between December 30 and January 21, the Police reported yesterday.
According to Police information, the boy was allegedly assaulted and sodomised by three boys, aged 16 to 17, who were being kept in the same cell.
A Police investigation into the matter continues, and cases of rape and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm have been laid against the suspects.
* A four-year-old girl was raped at a house at Plessisplaas in the Omaheke Region on Saturday.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested.
* A 34-year-old woman was raped at Gobabis on Saturday.
A 28-year-old suspect has been arrested.
