AS USUAL this time of the year, a brief cold spell is interrupting the lovely spring weather the country has been enjoying.
The cold front will mainly be felt in southern Namibia, with a cold night at Mariental and surroundings, where temperatures dropped to one degree Celsius last night. This last cold snap in September is called the ‘Eisheiligen’ or ‘ice saints’ by the older generation of Namibians.According to the weather forecast, it will be partly cloudy at first today and cold in the extreme south-eastern corner of Namibia, but later in the day the country will have cool weather, except such hot spots as Rundu, Ondangwa and Katima Mulilo. Temperatures there will be 33 and 34 degrees.
