Cold front snaps its jaws

TEMPERATURES in parts of Namibia are expected to dip below two degrees Celsius tomorrow morning as the second cold front of this winter takes hold.

Weatherman Odillo Kgobetsi says the daytime temperature in Windhoek today is expected to be a relatively balmy 16 degrees, while the South can expect 17 degrees. By tomorrow morning, however, the morning temperatures will dip to two degrees Celsius while the day temperature in Windhoek will be around 13 degrees.In the South, the day temperature will be around 10 degrees Celsius tomorrow.Kgobetsi says temperatures are expected to pick up gradually by Thursday.He also forecast rain in some areas in the South.A light drizzle was reported yesterday at Aus and Rosh-Pinah in the south-west.Despite the chilly weather accompanied by rain at Aus – one of the coldest places in the country – no losses of livestock have ben reported there yet.”This time of the year people usually report livestock losses, but up to now we haven’t received any reports from farmers,” said Police Constable Micheal Ikorua at Aus.By tomorrow morning, however, the morning temperatures will dip to two degrees Celsius while the day temperature in Windhoek will be around 13 degrees.In the South, the day temperature will be around 10 degrees Celsius tomorrow.Kgobetsi says temperatures are expected to pick up gradually by Thursday.He also forecast rain in some areas in the South.A light drizzle was reported yesterday at Aus and Rosh-Pinah in the south-west.
