THE sudden chill experienced yesterday morning is expected to continue for the rest of the week.
Weather forecaster Simon Dirkse told Nampa that it will be cold over the weekend too, but not as cold as during the week.Several towns and villages recorded night temperatures of minus two degrees Celsius over the past two days. According to the weather forecast for today, maximum temperatures are expected to start recovering due to the establishment of a high-pressure system over the southern parts of the country.’Due to a tight pressure gradient, strong south-easterly to southerly winds will prevail over the coastal areas on Wednesday, with sunny weather conditions over most of the coastal towns,’ it said. With the southerly wind flow, more cold air will be pushed into the interior, hence temperatures are expected to continue dropping in southern Namibia today.Cold air will be pushed into the north-eastern regions too, where temperatures are expected to drop by eight to 10 degrees Celsius from today. – Nampa
