THE Congress of Democrats (CoD) has distanced itself from the revival of the UDP and Canu parties in the Caprivi Region, as well as from the organisers of these parties.
CoD President Ben Ulenga said in a press release that his party wanted to make it clear that it was not in any way involved with these new parties. He emphasised that there was no connection, whatsoever, between these parties and the CoD whatsoever.”It has come to the attention of the CoD that certain individuals, formerly members of the CoD, have been involved in the formation or revival of UDP or Canu in the Caprivi Region,” said Ulenga. He said these individuals had been spreading misinformation in the region about their relationship with the CoD and were pretending that they were still CoD members.”CoD would like to state further that certain individuals, such as Mr Crispin Matongo, Dasken Mulisa and others are no longer CoD members.By their very actions of organising UDP or Canu, they have automatically expelled themselves from CoD,” Ulenga added.By the same token, he said, any other members of the CoD who involved themselves with other political parties or organisations automatically disqualified themselves from being members of the CoD.He emphasised that there was no connection, whatsoever, between these parties and the CoD whatsoever.”It has come to the attention of the CoD that certain individuals, formerly members of the CoD, have been involved in the formation or revival of UDP or Canu in the Caprivi Region,” said Ulenga. He said these individuals had been spreading misinformation in the region about their relationship with the CoD and were pretending that they were still CoD members.”CoD would like to state further that certain individuals, such as Mr Crispin Matongo, Dasken Mulisa and others are no longer CoD members.By their very actions of organising UDP or Canu, they have automatically expelled themselves from CoD,” Ulenga added.By the same token, he said, any other members of the CoD who involved themselves with other political parties or organisations automatically disqualified themselves from being members of the CoD.
